New owners? Charged $750 for a Ranger alternator replacement! $300 Or less at the dealership. Also, after a previous repair replacing a thermostat gasket, we discovered missing parts, broken clips and damaged or missing tape on the electrical. They didn't charge the air conditioning system when we had a $200 service done on another vehicle prior to that! We gave them another chance and now the are trying to charge more than 2xs the listed book repair cost. We are very disappointed and will not be going back there. Consumers beware! Update on the broken clips etc. Apparently Paulines only fixed what we could see! They told us we had a leak from the thermostat gasket on the Ranger. They charged us $400 to replace the thermostat housing gasket. We ended up taking it to the dealer when the silicon they put on the gasket came out and the truck had to be towed after loosing all of the coolant on the freeway . We had a cracked thermostat housing? Huh? Also Ford asked me who did the last repair? And do we want to replace the $53 in clips, missing vacuum hose etc from whoever worked on it last. Ford saved the broken parts for us so we could show the mechanic at Paulines. Happy to report there have been no issues since the dealer made things right.
